Skeeter, all this talk of flat taxation, Forbes, etc., has raised my interest. I can understand how you dislike Mr. Forbes plan, but I'm interested in what you might propose as an alternative? Or, are you satisfied with the current system?

Regards...Bill S

SkeeterBug. You are a reasonable man too, but I didn't even need to finish your essay before I just had to ask you "do you feel we, as in We the People of this government, have a right to a percentage of every pot of money? It seems you are worried that Steve Forbes has a large pot of money and that we have some sort of right to dip our hands into it.

I'm glad my power company doesn't charge me more money when I make more money and instead charges me for what I use. 8)

I came back to say I read your post on an alternate tax system. My comment there is "we don't have to pay off the debt, just grow the GDP and keep interest rates low and it, National Debt, becomes a smaller percentage every year....sort of like a 30 yr mortgage."
