This is from the CC:

"Q: Any volume purchase agreements with AT&T to report and what might be the growth going forward? Also, as to the labor
contract that expires in May -- details?

A: Lucent is still operating with AT&T under the contract that was signed at the spin-off in 1996. There is nothing to announce
right now on new contract purchase agreements. Lucent continues to see positive growth in this account. Long-term transport
and optical network work with AT&T is favorable, though switching contracts have moved away some,
but Lucent should be
ok there as well. Finally, wireless spending has decreased, but that has been picked up by other clients. "

Does anyone wonder why switching contracts have moved away some? I'm willing to bet it's because of the progress that Cisco has made in this area. But one area where LU has increased R&D spending is in data networking, so maybe they'll regain ground eventually.
