when you ridicule people and slander the spelling of their name..

Too damn many people on these threads fail to understand the critical difference between "slander" and "libel". Look it up.

And one can neither slander nor libel a spelling. One can, of course, make a mess of grammar, syntax, and spelling, as so many do. There's a useful SI thread that deals with this stuff. Check it out.
