Aha! At last there's a turn in the discussion to something about which I have some expertise to contribute. Having just designed a new performance management system for my employer, I don't feel at all shy about opining on the subject of measures and standards. Let's see now. On SI, we're compensating people $2 for each post and $.10 for each person who reads that post. What a concept! I can't wait to take this pay-for-performance idea back to the office tomorrow--abandon quality measures and go strictly with quantity. Now, if I can just get my employer to pay me $2 for each e-mail I send, regardless of quality, and $.10 for everyone who reads it, I should be able to earn enough that I no longer have to risk my money in the stock market. (I wonder if SI has a thread on treasury bonds...) ;-)

Moi? Umm, thanks. I think.
