<JAKARTA -- Chase Manhattan Corp., Deutsche Bank AG, Bank of
Tokyo-Mitsubishi and other banks may be forced to write off as much as $56 billion of loans to Indonesian companies, or 70 percent of what they're owed, fund managers and analysts said yesterday.>

You can't get blood from a stone but you can keep extending the loans until the IMF bails you out.

I'll wait although the hardest thing to do in the market is to do nothing. I am though encouraged by recent Goldman and Fidelity direct investments in Japan and GE's announcement that it will invest over
$ 40 billion in Asia. IMF is nothing but the running boy for the biggies ... it will take its marching orders when the time comes.//CA
