Jules, This statement is not one of fact but OPINION based on your interpretation of certain data: " IBM is buying their stock back in order to distort earnings and to make it appear as if they were growing. Take a look at what these companies Shareholder's Equity is doing over the last 18 months and you will see what I mean." To me this statement is extremely presumptuous. You presume to know what's going on in managements mind based on "what these Shareholder's Equity is doing over the last 18 months." How about another possibility? Maybe, just maybe, the management at IBM can see a glimpse into the future and can foresee the upcoming growth in their businesses and see IBM stock as undervalued. Jules, let me ask you, do you know what's going on behind closed doors? Do you know what plans IBM has up their sleeve? How about acquisitions? Do you know what companies IBM will acquire in the next year? If you honestly cannot answer these questions then I have nothing further to say. If you can, than I owe you a huge apology. I certainly would have to admit that what I see going on and the people I have spoken to concerning IBM's growth prospects are illusions and wild fantasies. All of your questions are irrelevant to me. "What do you do at IBM? Where do you work at IBM? How long have you been with IBM?" - Let's say I'm a janitor, but am in bed with the presidents daughter. Would it matter what I did, where I worked or how long I have worked at IBM? The more appropriate question would then be, Who do you know at IBM? (Just fyi...No, I don't know anyone that far up the ladder). The question is not who I am and what I do, but whether what you state as a fact, that IBM is distorting their earnings to "appear as if they were growing," is just merely an opinion or whether you really know something or someone who can substantiate your statement. It's your turn..."use FACTS and SPECIFICS" to substantiate your statement and possibly we can continue this dialogue. Allan
