I'm not sure if this has been posted but here is a interesting article.

The new Unix alters NT's orbit
ncworldmag.com
Unix in general is making a comeback due to the Internet
Unix on Intel is invading IT both overtly and covertly
Premature competition between Windows NT vs. Unix on Intel is exposing flaws in NT
Poor timing is causing Moore's law to work against NT since Moore's Law helps the emerging Unix competition as much as it does NT. (Many thanks to the readers who wanted this point clarified. --Ed.)
Competitive threats on other fronts are pushing NT in conflicting
directions

How do you say Not There.

Dear Dan,
Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember, on the PBS show "Revenge of the Nerds" that Bill Gates hired someone to copy DOS from some guy in San Francisco that had developed it ( a hippie type that didn't want to deal with IBM), and thus the birth of DOS.... There seems to be a similiarity here with Microsoft "stealing " the MAC interface from Apple, and then winning the court battle in the same way that OJ won his court battle (with "better" lawyers). THAT is why I still use a MAC, after being ridiculed by "friends" at the time who called the MAC platform a "toy". - right - Apple set the standards, and Microsoft reaps the profits - same deal with their stance against Netscape - makes me sick....
