You are right about the Schwab system breakdown being scarely. I was trying to close out a short position (BVF) to limit my loss (the stock was moving against me). It was not until the next day that I found out that the order was not executed. Fortunately, the stock had dropped $2 from where it was when I wanted to close my short position.

Schwab saved me $2,000 on this transaction. For once, this breakdown went my way.

I took my wife out for an expensive dinner that Saturday night.

I have been using DLJ_Direct for all of my trades since Farsight got so overboard with their charges. Trades are often executed within minutes.

Try this trading calculator to show how much your trades would cost using their brokerage services. dljdirect.com
