Challo, Dark and brooding over the Southern Plains today.. Lots of moisture in the air, the sky is sullen, tornado weather.... Looks like IBD does not like the energy sector right now. But I would distinguish between e&p companies and the service sector. E&P companies' profits rise and fall with oil prices- but oil fields, just like your car need continual servicing.. So while there is a linkage to oil prices in the service sector, it's a lot more tenuous than for e&p companies....

And of course for refiners, their profits rise as oil prices fall, and pipeline companies make money strictly on throughput....
