It should be tasteful (hopefully the non blinking variety) and restricted to certain areas of the site ( not the discussion threads). or turned off for members. Non member lurkers already see banners in the threads. Non member lurkers do not have access to personal profiles. Non members can not? make use of the bookmark function. These are incentives to join. I am sure there will be more. Lurking and traffic to the site should be encouraged. Page hits bring in the revenue. The lurkers pay their way and are a pool for new members. Lets welcome them and maybe they will join.
