Great story.

The times when I have done what my husband said to do -- and the results went against us -- I still took responsibility. I pull all the brokerage triggers around here. I guess, ultimately, regardless of what he's said (or hasn't said), I made the decision.

In other words, your husband still acted on his own, you just happened to have been a possible influence. Well, it's a good guess! :-)
