Re: DELL's average trading volume: YAHOO! has it at 16,463,590, but looking at the volume over the last two years on a weekly basis, I think they must have doubled the pre-split volume to get their number. Does that make sense?

" I'm thinking of selling half of my DELL shares this week and buying back some before the 5/19 earning release. Any comments?"

yes.
don't sell.
you're sure to get caught in the pre-earnings run-up, and
have to buy them back at a higher price.

...besides, in three years the european division alone could
be as large as the entire company is, today.

why pitch pennies ?

James:
IMO not a good time to get out of Dell, too close to earnings, too much good news.
biz.yahoo.com
<<<<The company was currently making $5 million per day in Internet sales, of which $1 million came from Europe. Dell was making $1 million per day from Internet sales a year ago.>>>>
Remember the progress from $1 mil, to $2 mil to $3 mil, then the occasional $6 mil around Christmas????
Then the $400,000+/year free interest Dell gets from being paid for computers before they are built, will pay the wages of perhaps
200 workers
This train is not slowing down.
