Hi, Spots

Thanks for your interesting and very informative remarks on Windows NT. Now I don't know what to do.

Maybe you can help. I run two pc's in my home, both with Win95, networked together as peer-to-peer network (no hub) to share one printer and to be able to share and transfer files easily. One pc has ISDN connection, they both have regular analog modems and are connected to the internet pretty much all day. I am, as I said earlier, certainly not a computer guru, and the networking and modem stuff keeps me hopping.

As you can imagine, one or both of the PC's usually locks up each day at least once. Some days I get lucky and nothing bad happens. I was hoping to move soon to Windows NT instead of Windows 95 because I have heard NT is more stable, especially in a network environment. I like having the PC's connected.

I run CyberTrader exclusively on one PC and various applications on the other, mostly a bunch of Netscape browser windows, maybe AIQ, Quicken once in a while. By the way, sorry to hear about your frustration with Quicken. I have dealt with them in the past and I certainly do feel your pain. <g>

Obviously you know more than I do. Knowing all this, do you think I would fare better with NT, or should I stick with Win95? CyBerTrader techs often appear to be recommending NT. I have a hard enough time with 95. Do you feel NT is relatively easy to learn to use? Should I dump 95 for NT, or not? I would like to keep things simple, if possible.

Thanks for your help.

Bill
