G.S.C.: Just had a look at Asian markets & it ain't purdy.

Even H.K. is down, China treading water. How long can China stave off competitive market and currency devaluation?

The Feds are very nervous, I don't think even they know which way the economy will turn. They desperately want Japan to inflate their economy to bring them in line with Western thinking. "Come-on in, the water is fine". Inflate, borrow, B.S., but don't let deflation take hold!!!!!! Better inflation than deflation. Spend your money. Inflation, we can stop, deflation?... well, even printing money has its problems with debt!!!

These market gyrations are getting more severe and unpredictable as time goes on. For most people, it's a sleep-walk as the US exchanges and US dollar have remained unaffected in the face of the most severe upsets since the 30s. It will be interesting to observe the public's reaction when they are faced with the same. It is difficult to know where a safe harbour will be, because one cannot predict the reaction of the governments involved. I therefore stick with gold, commodities and cash.

regards,

Phil

Fed. Gold watch - I know that Greenspan has said that he watches the price of gold closely as an inflation predictor. E
