GaBard,
Your not too high impression on Y2K plays - funny - that's exactly my opinion on Y2K in general. In CSHK I like the kitty litter much more - there will be cats around beyond Y2K, too.

A friend of mine made a ton of money in Y2K plays. He likes the "bodyshops" especially. Those "human-code generators" like SYNT & CMND. I never touched it. My opinion is that this approach: generating old bloated Code on already obsolete systems like COBOL on the AS/400 or the VMS/MVS big iron stuff instead of proactively migrating the IT-infrastructure to a more timely enterprise client-server paradigm.

The only exception is TAVA which I still have and like because it's in a different area (embedded systems). Anyway, the street ran the bodyshop up big-time and prooved me wrong - perhaps they were just not farsighted and/or technological fluent to look beyond the glizzy "Y2K" tag many firms tried to attach itself with. Well, I think that a true motivation and those who dig it up prevails ultimately, re: DD.

Anyway, there's a nice saying: Triumph of the moment - glory of perseverance <G> - think it's from Ortega y Gasset..

best wishes
