Gary,
I am not following Globalstar or Iridium, but correct me if I am wrong, but as I remember, their goals are to build networks with
the using of satellites. EPEA goal is to launch satellites for
companies like them, for universities, private companies and the
likes. EPEA is to be a provider to put the satellites in orbit and
not to build any network of their own. A lot of companies can
get satellites built for their needs, and their need may just be
one satellite, for which the cost of using something like the large
Delta Rocket may be too costly for there one satellite,as like the
Delta,it can carry 4 or so satellites. Also as like Soxan stated in
reply # 95,countries with limited resources are looking for lower
costs launches that they can afford and justify. Columbia is in
need of a satellite as the word is out there because with the drug
problems ,the government is having major problems in communications
within the country from regular telephone lines being wrecked,
while with a satellite they could have direct communications anywhere in the country without worry of telephone poles getting drop here
and there. EPEA Believer * Richard
