Does it only occur on certain sites? Yes- this one here - like clockwork
hotfiles.com and sometimes with e-mail-- Netscape in box direct

Does it ever occur at SI? Never !

When the scandisc reports the corrupted file do you tell it to fix it? Some times yes other times no. Has happened so many times can not keep track.

My guess is that it is not one of the Netscape files. They are probably fragmented as
they are the ones open when you have to shut the power off with the switch.

Clear all your caches and run a complete scan on your harddrive to mark any bad
sectors. Not sure what you have to do to make it mark bad sectors ?

Are there any device conflicts in the device manager? I have no idea

Have you installed any new hardware recently? nope

Try disabling Java --- still the same thing !
Does it happen if you are not on the net? No
Does it only occur when you are in Netscape? Yes

I do not think that it would be the drivers- I can use Opera and it never crashes

Thanks for the help
Tim
