Regarding Earthlink, I couldn't help but make a correction your last remark "What a difference a year makes" I would change it to What a difference a year and a very large investment from George Soros makes. Geo. Soros saved Earthlink from sure failure last summer. Next time I read of him investing heavily in a company I'll know what to do!!!

Elk, Thought this might be interesting as far as raising the level of our expectations for FNET. Afterall, if Earthlink can be a 9 bagger, imagine what we can do. Earthlink SUCKS!!! Written by Edwin Thorne on Sat Apr 25 22:06:37 1998 To: Message Number: 34570 I switched from Chicagonet to Earthlink. BIG MISTAKE!!! Not only does Earthlink drop my connection, but the authentication fails when I try to reconnect. When I called the "technicians" at the tech support line, all they could tell me to do is reenter my user name and password into PPP. When I told them that this had already been repeatedly done, they began making remarks about PPP on the Macintosh, and said "well, you'll have to call Apple." Now wait a minute! I've been using Chicagonet for over a year, with no problems at all. I lost it when the technician said that PPP was at fault, and asked for the supervisor. They tried to turn it around and make it look like I was being uncooperative. Not so. I did everything they asked me to do. Several times. I knew I was in for a "rough ride" when I told the "technician" I use Mac OS 8.1 and he responded laughingly "you like to be on the bleeding edge." What colossal ignorance! Mac OS 8.1 is completely stable! No "bleeding edge" here! Earthlink has a lot of nice features, but they're useless if you can't connect. I was disconnected before I could even finish typing this message. I canceled after less than a week's memebership. In conclusion I'd like to say: EARTHLINK SUCKS!!!! Whew! I'm through ranting now.
