Congratulations, Seth. Welcome Emily Hope. Glad to hear Mother and daughter are doing well. I know Dad will be, soon as he gets some rest -- in about 25 years.

Congratulations Seth on your new daughter. Mine is now 23 and still a constant joy to me. And don't let those reports that it takes about a million dollars to raise a child now days bother you. After all, you are a Franklin stockholder and we laugh at small hurdles like that<g>.

off topic: Seth, Emily is a beautiful name. Here is a story about how tough it is to name babies:

This Indian boy goes to his mother one day with a puzzled look on his face. "Say, mom, why is my bigger brother named Mighty Storm?"

She told him, "Because he was conceived during a mighty storm."

Then he asked, "Why is my sister named Cornflower?"

She replied, "Well, your father and I were in a cornfield when we made her."

"And why is my other sister called Moonchild?"

The mother said,"We were watching the moon rising while she was conceived."

Mother Indian paused and asked her son, "Tell me, Torn Rubber, why are you so curious?"

Seth, Congratulations and prayers for the best for you and all yours.

Savor the moments! How soon the babe is grown! My firstborn of two daughters turned Four-Oh just last month and my baby is thirty eight. The most dear memories I have are those of my children and things we did together as a family. And if it be so that you shall be blessed with grandchildren in due time, may you find as great joy in them as I have found in mine.

IMHO, There is no greater blessing on this earth for a husband and wife than children.

Congratulations Seth - Best wishes to your new family!

We also have a little Miss Emily. She is 3 now and quite a handful. We thought the 3rd child would be easy since we had two prior a few years back! Boy was I wrong - I'm getting too old for this.

My advice is to get your rest now because you won't be able to relax for about 18 years. The gray hairs should start to sprout in about 9-10 months, just about the time the walking begins.

Below are the most common phrases you will need for the next 5 years or so. Use them in good health and please enjoy them because they don't last very long!

Emily, stop jumping on the ______ (couch/bed/top of the stairs, etc.)
Emily, stop pulling the dog's _____ (tail, ears, penis, etc.)
Emily, get your hands out of the fishtank.
Emily, close the door.
Emily, stop screaming for no reason at all.
Emily, who made this mess?
Emily, where did you get these crayons?
Emily, stop running!
Emily, That's a beutiful picture you drew on the floor/wall/TV.
Emily, don't draw a picture on the side of my car with your chalk.
Emily, is this your vomit/poop/pee on my rug/couch/bed.
Emily, who put the _____ in the toilet? (TV remote, Tennis ball, etc)
Emily, how did this gum get in your hair/rug/dog/hamster,etc
Emily, please stop taking off your clothes/shoes.
Emily, what's that brown thing floating in the bathtub?
Emily, where did this puddle come from?
Emily, please don't put your food there (use your imagination)
Emily, Why did you fill the VCR with leggos?
Emily, stay off the stairs.
Emily, leave that alone - it's not a toy.
Emily, where is your diaper.
Emily, go back to bed, it's only 5:30 AM.

Of course I have my favorites as well:

Emily, do you want to play on the swings/pool/sandbox?
Emily, come give daddy another hug.
Emily, would you like another story?
Emily, lets go downstairs and sneak a snack before mommy wakes up.
Emily, do you want to watch Barney with me?

Of course this list goes on and on as well! (and yes, it should be longer.)

Enjoy them Seth. They grow up before you know what happened. And don't forget the old adage:

"No one, on their deathbed, ever regreted not spending enough time in the office"

Remember what's important (and believe me, it isn't the job or this stupid board!)

Best of luck to you!

- Pat

Seth, I don't really find the time anymore to post on SI as I have in the past. However this is worthy of taking out the time in sharing this joyous day with you.

I offer my heartiest congratulations and God's blessings for you and your family. I have chatted with you on line and on the phone to know enough that you are a good man and hold your families best interests close to your heart. Your children are blessed to have a loving father.

God Bless my friend!!!

Seth, That's such wonderful news!! In this world there's no greater blessing than a beautiful new son or daughter, unless, of course, it's a grandchild!

Congratulations and the very best of wishes to you and your family. If this is your first daughter, my husband would say you're in for a real treat. You're about to become very spoiled by the love and affection little girls just naturally give to their dads.
