Pakman looks like you made the Dow news...........here's some excerpts: 4Health Rumors Sound Good, But Chatter Has It Wrong By Jason Anders The Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--From the chatter on some on-line message boards, big things are happening for vitamin maker 4Health: A marketing agreement with America Online Inc. (AOL), a takeover offer from Twinlab Corp. (TWLB) and an endorsement from billionaire investor George Soros. Shares of the small Boulder, Colo., company are responding. After trading at around 5 for months, the stock jumped to 9 1/2 on April 21 - hitting a 52-week high of 13 in trading that day. It has remained strong since then, climbing 3/16 to 8 on the Nasdaq Stock Market on Thursday, though it recently was down 1/8, or 1.6%, at 7 7/8. "[A] broker called me and said that not only was he putting all of his clients in [4Health] but all the brokers were buying for themselves as well," one person wrote in a message on the Silicon Investor Web site (www.techstocks.com) on the day 4Health shares hit their high. The gains have been great for shareholders of 4Health. But, there is a big problem for participants in the electronic-investing forums: The on-line claims are incorrect. "I've heard the rumors," said Pika Fisher, head of investor relations for 4Health. "People have asked me about our relationship with AOL. Well, I have to log in to AOL to get my e-mail, but beyond that, that's about it." She also denied an on-line rumor that an AOL executive will join the company's board.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. 4Healts announced a first-quarter profit of $5,500, reversing a loss of $426,000 a year ago. It also disclosed that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission may force it to restate 1997 results to show a substantially wider loss because of an inquiry into the way 4Health accounted for an acquisition in 1996...................................................................................................................................... 4Health Rumors -2-: Twinlab Exec: 'Never Heard Of Co.' Twinlab also denies having any interest in acquiring 4Health. "No, that's not true. I've never heard of them," Neil Blechman, executive vice president of Twinlab, said of the rumors and 4Health. ................................................................................................................................................................... The rumors about Mr. Soros emerged in on-line message boards last week, after White Rock Capital Group, a Dallas hedge fund, bought 676,000 shares of 4Health - a 5.64% stake. A spokesman for White Rock declined to say what attracted it to 4Health..................................................................................................................
