Well, if NT sold 5 boxes last year and 9 boxes this year, that would account for a 80% increase. If Unix sells 1,000,000 boxes last year and 1,100,000 this year, this is only a 10% increase!

Sun's Server & Storage Revenues From ERP Increase By 400%

Sun is Fastest Growing UNIX Platform for ERP

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1998--In advance of its worldwide announcement later this week in
Brussels and New York, Sun Microsystems, Inc., today revealed that its focus on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
market targeting Fortune 2000 companies increased server and storage-related ERP revenues by 400 percent last fiscal year.
In addition, Sun said that its share of license revenue generated by four of the top ERP vendors (Baan, Oracle, Peoplesoft,
SAP) on Sun(TM) systems in aggregate jumped from 10 percent to 25 percent. Sun will disclose additional news in the
exploding ERP space and unveil an important new product family on Wednesday, April 29 at the Palace Hotel in Brussels,
Belgium and the Equitable Center in New York City.

A key factor accounting for its phenomenal success in ERP is Sun's ability to maintain world performance records with
Peoplesoft, Oracle Applications and SAP. For example, Sun(TM) Enterprise(TM) servers running the Solaris(TM) operating
environment and SunTM StorEdge(TM) A3000 disk subsystems demonstrated unmatched performance with SAP R/3 by
supporting 6,030 Sales & Distribution benchmark users -- 13 percent more users with one-sixth the number of systems than
the previous record held by Hewlett-Packard. Furthermore, Sun has set the record for the highest number of SAP R/3 Sales &
Distribution users for each of the last three years.

The boom in Enterprise Resource Planning solutions stems from their ability to integrate and streamline a company's core
functions (e.g., financials, order entry, HR, manufacturing) to improve operating efficiencies on a global basis. ''Our
industry-leading performance and significant marketshare gains vis a vis competitors on the four key ERP platforms are a result
of our investments in highly-available systems and quality services,'' said John Shoemaker, vice president and general manager
of the Enterprise Server and Storage Group, Sun Microsystems Computer Company. ''As a result, revenues from ERP
installations represented approximately 30 percent of the company's overall enterprise server and storage sales in calendar year
1997.''

Additional details on what Sun is doing to accelerate its explosive growth in the ERP space, along with a major new product
announcement will be disclosed on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. Central European time (Palace Hotel, Brussels) and
10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (Equitable, New York), at events specially tailored for the international press and analyst
community. For press and analysts who want to attend these events, please contact Erin Butler at 1-650-287-4051 in the
United States and Anne De Maeseneer at +011-32-2-716-7911 in Brussels.

Once again you are sleeping at the wheel or else you didn't read the article. If you would have read it you would understand that NT is a hobby system and not a enterprise system. UNIX is enterprise read and moving forward while NT is trying to get were UNIX was 5 years ago.

Maybe you are a hobby computer users of microslop and really can't understand that computers aren't suppose to crash every day. Sooner or later the rest of the consumers will understand this and then your favourite company MS will be in big trouble then.
