Ascend does have a product line that competes with YURI. I believe it came from the Sahara acquisition. So I agree that LU maybe gathering products. What that means is to be seen in the future. As to WDM, ATM Access Concentrators and Ascend, Bernie at lunch at the Monty conference said that later this year the 550 would be able to hook up directly to fiber *without* an access concentrator. And that ASND would be moving towards building products in the Core Switching line that eliminate the need for a separate ATM access concentrator. That leads me to two questions: 1) Would such a direct connection imply WDM? 2) Did LU just buy a technology, or product line, for which ASND is already planning on eliminating the market need? I don't know what I am talking about. I just listen well. Comments please. Dennis
