This may be the same guy refered to in the PBS special - I remember that IBM came calling to his door - he didn't want to talk to them because he didn't trust them. IBM then turned to Bill Gates (or it may be that Bill Gates turned to IBM) and Mr. Bill offered to reproduce the operating system for IBM (at which point he got some other nerd to copy it from the inventor) Well, that's the way I remember the story. The Forbes article is probably right, and my memory wrong! - maybe he did pay him the $50,000 !! Thanks again, Don Corleone
