PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1998-- Hewlett-Packard Company today unveiled a new HP Vectra
VE PC based on Intel's Celeron processor. This entry-level addition to the HP Vectra VE line of value-priced, managed PCs
delivers the processing power required to run business applications. The new PC includes standards-based manageability
for easy PC tracking and trouble-shooting combined with the quality, compatibility and long product life cycle of all HP
Vectra corporate PCs.

''IS managers making long-term IT buying decisions want a manageable corporate PC with a great set of features at an
absolute best-value price,'' said Emilio Ghilardi, marketing manager of HP's Commercial Desktop Computing Division.
''These same IS managers also want a PC that has a long product life cycle and won't require frequent BIOS, driver and
hardware upgrades -- the HP Vectra VE PC delivers this.''

Among the features that make the new HP Vectra VE PC easy to install, easy to deploy and easy to maintain in a corporate
environment are the following:

-- a pre-installed and tested 3Com Fast EtherLink XL network interface card (NIC) on LAN models -- The industry-leading
10/100 Base-T NIC provides fast, reliable networking and Remote Wake Up and Remote Power On support for off-hours
PC management;

-- integration of all major industry standards, including SNMP, Desktop Management Interface (DMI) 2.0, Intel's Wired for
Management Baseline;

-- HP TopTools Web-based management software for easy tracking and trouble-shooting of networked PCs -- The

HP Vectra VE PC features include the following:
