Jules , INTC or MSFT not on Ford's IT list , but IBM is there

INTC as a "mainframe killer" is only a dream . Let's face it PC servers do not have the application software to replace mainframes and network OSs are limited .

Desktop processing is mainly word processing and mainframes in large organizations are the data handling backbones which is confirmed by Ford's IT "outsourcing" services RPQ specs :

" According to sources, Ford has asked vendors to supply information on how to handle data centers, telecommunications, asset management for desktops, applications development and maintenance, product development, and numerically intensive computing " .

Regards,
Jim K.

PS: Jules I used to regularly speak at IBM's Princeton, NJ financial application seminars and would visit EF Hutton's NYC main office to see an old buddy (VP in block trading) .

You need to post links.

Unfortunately, the new comers over here have not gone back to read my early analysis of IBM.

You've spent a lot of time on some of your posts, so a bibliography would be very useful. I'm thinking to doing the same thing for my posts on the Phoenix thread.
