Hey Gary (OG), do you have any comments on the LU acquisition of YURI? To my understanding, YURI's ATM-edge CPE products don't really compete with ASND's products. Your posts on the YURI thread in early April turned out to be extremely prescient. I sold my very small YURI position today.

Thanks for the "attaboy". Yes, YURI was ripe. I'm glad I hung on :) As for YURI and ASND, ASND has some ATM access products from Sahara (the SA-100 and SA-600 I think) but they have never been really commited to this business. YURI builds an ATM access concentrator which in my opinion is overpriced and older technology. LU will probably revamp the product. You may be aware that LU had been OEM'ing YURI for the past year to compliment the ATM switches they already have and it's my belief that this acquisition rounds out their ATM solution set. IMO this reduces the liklihood that LU will buy ASND.

In the short term I don't think this acquisition means much to ASND share price, however long term it's clear that LU is serious about ATM/FR businesses and will be focusing hard here going forward. This might have a long term impact on ASND. Perhaps and ASND/BAY merger is in order... (just thinking outloud)... ;)
