Market Orders delayed on open!
Can anyone tell me if I have any grounds for complaint and any mechanism for compensation (beyond Datek's $10 promise) if a delay in processing a market order at the open gets me an inferior price?
I placed a market order today at around 6:30am to buy BOBJY. The order did not get executed until 9:41 am. Seems to me that 11 minutes is unacceptable for a market order.
I did not get badly burned today, but I am worried that in future I might as I live overseas and due to the time difference I cannot watch the markets in real time and expect to be placing mainly market orders.

How have the rest of you done who place market orders at the open?

Thanks,

Aaron
