Interesting question. I am pretty sure that the LRCX cleaning stage is used by both IPEC and AMAT, so this may be a way to increase their market share in this market and further hedge their bets on their own polishing stage. I think they have somewhere around 70% of the cleaning market. I may be wrong, but I believe SFAM is the primary CMP manufacturer that has chosen not to use the LRCX cleaner.
