You could certainly be right - at this rarefied altitude even giraffes get lightheaded.

It also seems possible that there is a much lower line which defines the 'real' upper limit of the channel. This line was touched or approached half a dozen times in the last twenty years. The two spikes above this line - in 87 and 98 would then be throwovers of this more narrow channel.

Of course this is all arcane and theoretical based on such limited data.

I guess that's why they call it speculation.

On a more immediate note the hourly chart has been easing down steadily all day with progressively weaker rallies. Looks like Tuesday should be down again.
