re cash flow/profits, and profit being a fiction created by accountants.
Fascinating.
Is cash flow obvious on annual reports and quarterly reports?
Is that what we should be watching then, and the ebb and flow of c.f., instead of "profit"?

Chuzzlewit,

You may be right about this whole deal.I don't know and I'm not about to try and find out. The point of the SIMPLE question was to point out the paradox in Jim's statement. 4th quarter last year, COmpaq stuffed the channel and made record earnings. This 1st quarter Compaq tried to unstuff the channel and made almost record low earnings. According to what jim wrote, Compaq was both making low earnings and stuffing the channel.
