An Indian goes to Pakistan-The Mohajirs and 'muslim brotherhood'.

Jyoti:

Did you know the Indian muslims who migrated to Pakistan at the time of independence are blatantly discriminated and I belive are called Mohajirs,oh well so much for the 'muslim brotherhood'.There is also
talk among some Mohajirs to come back to India if that is possible at
all.

Also regionalism & factionalism among muslims are much stronger in Pakistan.<gg>

Here is an interesting story.

India: Pakistan stepping up military activity
SRINAGAR, India (Reuters) - India said Thursday that Pakistan had stepped up military activity on the Kashmir border, firing heavy weapons since May 19.

"It has resorted to unprovoked firing of artillery, mortars, air-defense guns and automatic weapons in Kanzalwan and Machal sectors in the forward district of Kupwara from May 19 onwards," a government statement released in Srinagar said.

"The firing and artillery shelling has been totally unprovoked and appears to be a cover-up activity to push in heavily armed militant groups into Kashmir valley," the statement said.

It said India's response had been "restrained and appropriate," but its engagement of Pakistani gun positions had brought about a cessation of firing in the region.

India's interior minister said this week that Pakistan was likely to step up hostile activities in the divided Himalayan region following India's series of nuclear tests.

India accuses Pakistan of arming and training Islamic guerrillas in Kashmir, but Islamabad says it gives separatists only political and diplomatic support. Several militant groups are fighting for Kashmir's independence or merger with Pakistan. India controls two-thirds of the region and Pakistan the rest.
