"I think our souls are little piece of god and are trying to evolve tothe point where they can reunite with god. In that sense, I think we all recieve instruction from god, but few listen. I think there are two basic emotions, Love and fear. When you do things from the basis of love, you are living according to Gods instructions, IMO."

That makes as much sense, at least in practical application, as anything I've ever heard. There's Life-affirming positive actions and Life-denying negative ones, random acts of violence and kindness happening all over the place, no group of us has a monopoly on either.

When I said 'form' of God, I didn't mean 'picture', that's too narrow and temporal. It's all we can imagine, though, with our very limited ability to perceive. How about 'God' (what a loaded term is 'God', perhaps we need another) as pure energy, they say that matter right down to the neutrino is formed entirely from that which we describe as 'energy'.

Without a guiding force, though, entropy would seem to me to be able to dissipate the organization of Life, which Life just seems too intricate and well-designed to have happened by accident. But as to the form of this force - the only thing I know for sure is that I know nothing. I strongly suspect that it is not knowable by our species at this time, but I'd love that to be proven wrong.

Great post, Christine #reply-4228528 - stepping back for an overview

Dear Mark,
Spiritually I believe God is mostly interested in the spirit of people and has little or no interest in the flesh. Jesus is the only Prophet to claim He was indeed God in human flesh. That being so then God only came that way to complete a program started long ago through Abraham. Please take a moment to consider what Paul said;
Romans 2
14 Indeed when Gentiles (entire world) who do not have the law (Word of God) do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves even though they do not have the law SINCE THEY SHOW THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW ARE WRITTEN ON THEIR HEARTS, their CONSCIENCES also bearing witness,and their thought now accusing, now even defending them. This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ as my gospel declares.

Thats from Paul saying that when people do not have access to the Word they will be judged by their hearts. Don't people realize if we have compassion and concern for people how much more the One that breathed life into them. He said to Jonah that He had many people He had raised and knew in Ninevah, these were not Jews they were not in the Law or knew God but He knew them and did not desire to cause them to perish. Again with Job, Eliphaz and the so called friends of Job made God out to be a destructive God that despises men, He said they have not spoken of me what is true. Can you imagine Chris wanting to tell people about the Lord so they will be accountable for destruction in his mind? Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Nancy

Mark, this subject of what Jesus looked like has been discussed several times here, but I don't believe there is any agreement. I have asked if someone who knows a lot about the tribes of ancient Israel could respond, but I don't believe anyone has done that.

My understanding is that Jesus had dark brown skin and thick dark hair. It does not matter to me what racial group he came from, but it is strange that it seems to be such an uncomfortable subject here.

Are there people who NEED for Jesus to be a white, blue-eyed man? I don't know the answer, but am curious.
