Rudedog, we'll have to see, but it isn't easy to unstuff these channels. In checking local retail vendors, they say they aren't moving Compaqs. There's something else to consider. If you write your inventory down to reflect a lowered market you will give the illusion of reducing your inventory, when in fact what you are doing is giving effect to what everyone already knows -- some of that inventory is worthless -- like those 14" monitors they're giving away as promotions.
