Simply...Jim believes that as old inventory went out equal new inventory came in. That's all he has written besides the fact he also basically believes COmpaq management is lying about unstuffing the channel. None of this cheaper boxes comprises the inventory theory you raise (if I understand you right), in fact, Chuzzlewit makes the opposite assumption (400MHZ) that jim agrees with.

As a investor of both DELL and CPQ, I like to hear both sides of the story in an objective fashion; however, it is apparent that jim has no holdings of CPQ and thus does not feel the same way.
Simply, He is anti-CPQ and pro-DELL.
