Well, a big down on Globex more often than not does mean selling at the opening.

I jusr wondered what to make of a big down after the close (which, as it happens, rapidly disappeared soon after I asked about it, though it seems to be picking up again now).

Haim, So far they have pulled this market up with all kinds of shenanigans just about the time it was running out of steam. Mergers, buyback announcements, splits, beating estimates. I believe the Journal article was about rising rates. Well this afternoon Rubin apparently came out and said rates were going down. There was a long pause in the market, longer at least then I thought it should have been , and then a grudging rally started, which was helped by a weird reversal in Amazon, which apparently just announced a 2 for 1 a few minutes ago...
