Spots!

You wrote a book! Thanks a million!!! Your comment "I expect most of this is more confusing than helpful" may prove to be an understatement. <g>

You sure seem to know a lot about computers and a lot about networking. I'm gonna spend the rest of the night pouring over your very detailed and informative remarks. I appreciate the time you must have spent putting all that info together, but I'm sure many of the good readers here will benefit from your knowledge, as will I certainly.

One thing for sure, I need to get someone locally who knows all this stuff. I don't want to have to try to learn as much as you obviously know. It seems a bit overwhelming. I'll try to find a local computer guru and, hopefully, spend my time trying to pick stocks.

Today was a good day, by the way. I hope you did well. Spots, thanks again for your help with Windows NT. I will read over and analyze your information right now.

Bill

William,

I use NT throughout our office and find network access much faster than win95. As well, i think nt's increased performance is well document. Network is also more secure. OS is more stable. From my experience with about 40 machines on my trading desk, NT is the way to go. The one downside, you will need a modem with jumper since its not pnp.

Also a snap to load and setup.

Regards,
Steve
