Hi! I'm back from a short vacation. I just went over the last 50 or so posts and enjoyed the debate immensely . . . . everyone is leaving my abilities behind! I'll throw in a few opinions from time to time, but this forum has really taken off. Everyone should look back at the posts and simply reflect on the general quality, with only a few exceptions, and be proud of ourselves. Mr. Forthright has raised valid questions, that have been well answered, in the main, and the residual concerns he has mentioned should remain of concern to all of us. I look around at a few other threads, and none that I've found so far really compares to the quality of the debate here on our thread, and I include some of the private interchanges that are apparently going on behind the scenes. One can see right through the public posts that a lot is going on through the private message service. SI has a real winner with this idea. My only objection though, is to think of GPW as only a speculation, and not an investment. I'm looking forward to an evolution of speculation, into "businessman's risk", into investment, for GPW. This doesn't mean that I'm calling for GPW to be of "investment grade" now, even though it may have that potential, but IMO, it is mighty close to moving out of the "speculative" area into the "businessman's risk" category with the business prospects GPW has announced to date. In the hothouse business environment of the Y2K world, it would, again IMO, be much more of a threat to overgrow, rather than undergrow the business. I rather like the idea that a careful, almost plodding, management style over the past 22 years, by persons of colour (gray heads like me) would tend to put a brake on unreasoned and premature expansion. So far, only the task of swallowing AASKI seems at all daunting to the GPW group, and I hope we will hear soon from management as to how that is going. However my concern over that, is far far below anything that might cause me to give up my long position at these levels, and I would be very very cautious indeed of shorting. I've seen a lot come and go, and this one continues to look very real to me (so did my last one, Methanex, which has been boringly flat back to the stone age - so I'm certainly not especially prescient). I enjoyed the debate I read, and gained some real illumination from it, but I'm actually leaning even more to the long side than I was a few days ago. I realize that I've not added to the knowledge base in what I've said here, but I think this Forum should include out and out opinions too, not just the facts, just so someone like Mr Forthright can post the opposing view. Sometimes opinions are not based on fact, but on instinct, experience, and prognostication, but are still worthwhile to promote the thought of others who may be better equipped or place to root out the "facts". Thanks to everyone for all the input, including the endlessly cynical Mr. Forthright! A very good evening to all, Murray
