More info about Yuri puchase. Sounds like it doesn't compete with coms but would affect Asnd and nn greatly. Asnd holders, switch to coms asap like the briefing note says while you still can (!)<G> :

Speaking of takeover speculation...

Lucent sees potential for deal in frame relay area

Monday April 27, 4:56 pm Eastern Time

NEW YORK, April 27 (Reuters) - Lucent Technologies Inc (LU - news), which
announced plans to acquire data networking equipment firm Yurie Systems Inc (YURI -
news) for $1 billion, said it may want to pursue a future deal in the frame relay arena.

Frame relay ''is a space that customers are interested...you could expect either an
internal development or acquisition in this space in the time to come,'' said Bill O'Shea,
president of Lucent's data networking systems group.

O'Shea, in a conference call with analysts and reporters, declined to comment on the
timing or specifics of any possible deal, but said frame relay is consistent with Lucent's
focus.

ASND represents a "safe haven" for investors should market
continue to slide, as stock close to high end of 5-month trading
range... Downside risk minimal as bad news reflected in price... To
the contrary, at first sign that business conditions are improving
stock likely to emerge from breakout... In other words, now might
be a good time for investors holding COMS to roll into ASND... Upside breakout from trading range would
leave stock well position for intermediate term test of mid- to
upper-50's.
