1997 Annual Report -

I just got the 1997 annual report. It looks like a real annual report. There is a good oblique shot of the MKII across the cover. The statement by Ken Hendrickson, CEO and Chairman of the Board is clear and confident. Nothing as esoteric as "hockey stick ramps", but he does discuss OEMs and his expectation: "we will win our share of the OEM business". No real surprises except a parenthetical comment that the ANSI FC Standard (which already specifies two and four gigabit speeds)and this assures customers of continuing product leadership. He develops a good thesis of products for the LAN and SAN and closes with these inspired paragraphs:

"We are excited about the future of Ancor. We have made significant strides in 1997 to position the Company to be prepared for the rigors of being a large volume OEM supplier. We added to the board and executive team, drawing from successful highly technical companies, and in February 1998 we received $10.3 million of funding from previous investors, a strong vote for future success. Armed with a product that is optimized for both markets and a team of experienced and committed employees who are second-to-none, we believe we are on the brink of success".

I hope he is right.
