Hey all, I have a substantial amount %age wise in MRV, but don't follow it terribly closely cause I know that management is top of the line, and in the end, they'll either be bought out or way higher than they are now. (Can anyone pronounce, "undervalued"-- especiually in light of Lucent's price paid for their aquisition.) However, I think it's REALLY, (almost funny) the days when MRVC releases earnings. Here is a list of what I remember, they beat or tied expectations each time ... Q1 '97 2 cents ahead-- 3 Com announces that it is experiencing slowdown Q2 '97 2 cents ahead-- President announces that two meteor's are coming directly towards earth (or this a movie scrip, can't remember) Q3 '97 1 cent ahead-- Bo Outlaw goes to Orlando. Cisco announces that they are going to Gorilla the little guy Q4 '97 1 cent ahead-- Noam spills coffee on his shirt during CNBC interview, further exacerbating impatient shareholders thinking that MRVC has the same media relationship as Dennis Rodman, except those who argue that Rodman gets more attention Q1 '98 1 cent ahead-- The continent of Asia claims it is falling into the sea. Refuses US offer of a surfboard to help them stay afloat. Sadaam Hussein invades Canada. (South Park) Q2 '98 28 vs. 19-- Market decides that, "Since MRV is announcing earnings it must tank." Shareholders blame Noam. ... looking forward Q3 '98 Cisco nnounces that is purchasing MRV for 3 billion dollars. Shareholders paid in monopoly money. Shareholders blame Noam for not buying Park Place when he had the chance. Q4 '98 Warren Buffet lands on Park Place, shareholders blame Noam for only owning the "Green" and "yellow" monopolies. Do you get the drift people?? This is your future we're talking about it. Plan wisely. Richard Bo Outlaw is on the line
