Ha! That was how I first met Jean-Louis Gassee. We were having a discussion on
CompuServe about the upcoming change of Macintosh color from beige to platinum. I
made an eloquent case for the maintenance of beige. JLG told me that the focus
groups had voted and that the decision had already been made. I was heartbroken,
of course.


Yikes! In retrospect, I thought platinum was a much better color for the old compact Macs. Just looked....cleaner.

Now they are going to take away the logo. How depressing. Sure, Steve Jobs likes it.
Does he ever wear anything but black?


That I do agree with. I'd hate to see the old six-colored pomme go too, and I doubt it will since it's still considered one of the most recognizable brand symbols in the world.
