And how do people behave when glitches pop up?

It's worth a click to read it, especially for the nay-sayers here who think all will be well.

here's the into ..... and remember, this was with all the rest of the infastructure working in support and all available resources being directed to address the problem.

(and hey, it really is a fantastic airport when everything is working)

Loose axle derails DIA

By Jason Blevins
Denver Post Staff Writer

April 27 - A dangling axle on a train at Denver International Airport forced a complete
shutdown of the airport's sole transportation system Sunday, leaving dozens of passengers
panicking on train cars in the darkened tunnels.

The shutdown lasted several hours and affected thousands of passengers, many of whom
missed their connections.

Tempers flared, with many passengers lashing out at both the airport and the city over the

One passenger called the incident a "massive screwup.''

"It was almost riotous conditions,'' said (a) traveler ......>>>>>

Re: Another TAVA hiring coup: Rick Cowles, former Y2K PM for DEC

Rick's Biography from his web site:
Rick Cowles is one of the leading national experts on the Year 2000 (Y2K) computer problem. His extensive analysis of the Y2K issue in the pharmaceutical and electric utility industries is featured weekly in his column for Westergaard 2000, a service of the Westergaard Publishing Corporation. Rick is a frequent guest on National Public Radio's The Y2K Investor program, and is a founding member of the Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility's Y2K Working Group. He is currently serving as the Year 2000 Program Manager - Utilities for Digital Equipment Corporation, headquartered out of Digital's Albany, NY office.

He began his career in the commercial electric utility industry in 1980, after serving six years on nuclear submarines in the U.S. Navy. Over the next 17 years, he worked in both the power generation and business ends of the industry. He's spent time on the shop floor, in the board room, and control room. His information systems experience spans that entire timeframe, from System 38 and Tandem NonStop II system operations to an SAP distributed system implementation and Year 2000 program management in both the electric and pharmaceutical industries.

=====

I had the pleasure of hearing Rick speak today at a Y2K conference in NY and talking to him afterwards about TAVA. Suffice to say he brings with him extensive industry contacts which should very quickly establish a revenue stream for TAVA in the electric utilities industry. Anyone who takes the time to read Ricks web site or book will quickly realize just how extensive the problem is in that sector.

RE: Backlog

Karl,

Your backlog theory holds some water. ORBI was hanging around with no particular place to go. They began to get contracts and build a backlog beginning in July 1997. Backlog kept increasing and stock price kept appreciating. I view TAVA and ORBI in same light as there is very little competition in their respective fields.
