One point of disagreement with your author. Ford/Daimler/Ballard did not join together when they realized Toyota had a lead by demonstrating their fuel cell RAV. Ballard and Daimler have always had a technology lead and the record proves that. Daimler has produced 4 vehicles in 3 years of varying types with improving specs. Toyota has not had such a record. Plus, I think you will find that Toyota's power densities are several years behind BLD's. Toyota is certainly a solid second place though.
