>>>then the MM's and shorts should be forced to covering with buy ins. This stems from the fact that they have a set number of days to cover a short once a buy in is ordered. And since the stock is not trading, then the must reopen it to cover their MM shorts (naked selling) shares. The only why for them to reopen is to fill a 15c-211 as the NASD and SEC would be on those short the shares to cover there naked positions, or buy from shareholders placing their shares up for sale though brokerage firms.<<<

Riley.....One of us doesn't understand something. Let's talk it through. On the 22nd of December, the stock was halted. At the moment the stock was halted, you can be sure that some short positions existed (intended to be covered on that day...or later) and some buy-ins existed (intended to be honored on that day). Nothing in the way that you have suggested has occurred. That is, no MM's have been forced to cover their short position while a buy order existed and while the stock is halted.

You indicate that the MM's MUST file to cover those short positions. I don't think a MM can file until they have adequate financials from the company to allow them to file. Further, I have seen no evidence of "panic selling" as a result of the .10 paint of the tape (as you call it) and I have seen no evidence of your proposed $175 trade (to paint the tape in the other direction).

One of us doesn't understand something about the way the market operates.....I think it's you! Do you suppose you can respond to this without accusing me of slandering you?

Riley,

Thanks for explaining the process. Can you provide info on where I can find the regulations, processes, or procedures that would lead to this situation?

Meaning, where can I find information that says if the TA does not have enough shares that the stock will have to start trading?

You must understand that without such documentation, I could theorize a lot of what could happen, but what will official happen is the question.
