It's difficult to compare the various systems. My PPro at work was provided by my employer, and runs WinNT 4.0. It has a crappy ViRGE DX graphics board, but has 96MB of RAM. Even so, it feels slower than my K6-233 at home since the K6 runs Win95 and Linux. I use an FIC 2007 motherboard (VIA VP2) but it only has 66 and 75MHz settings. It made no difference on the Winstone or Winbench whether I clock it at 66x3.5 or 75 x3, but I haven't tried 75x3.5. It has a Millenium II 8MB card and a decent IBM Deskstar drive and feels very fast. My other K6 is really a Frankenstein's monster: I put all my spare stuff in with an older socket 7 board and the K6, and runs NT server. I also have a Micron XKE 166MMX notebook which is very fast for a notebook. It also runs hot and I can't put it on my lap for very long.
