Calpers uses index funds primarily.

So they always have one or two dogs, a few years ago they were after Apple.

I saw the CALPERS president interviewed on CNBC once and she said the participants were most happy with the index fund results, since they saved so much in mgmt fees and the results were about the same as when they had professional mgmt.
