I'd truly love to see that happen. Such a plan would loose money for them at a rapid pace. Just like CPQ and its bogus channel stuffing scheme that landed it in a zero earnings quarter.

I don't think you can beat the synergy possible by having the two businesses under one roof as long as HP nails the execution.

Don't be concerned about HP trying to increase market share by selling a low cost inferior product. Their corporate DNA ensures they will focus high quality and above median performance. They haven't dominated the printer markets by selling junk.
