Jeez, do you people really think Microsoft would cut off an OEM in the face of all the scrutiny they're under??? To do something like that, Microsoft would need very rock-solid evidence to show irrevocable cause to take such extreme measures.

And Jerry, despite all of Marc Andreessen's hype about Linux that you seemingly are believing, if an OEM no longer bundled Win32 but instead went with Linux, their sales would quickly approach zero.

Gerald,

Better yet, offer to sell a Windows/Linux box at a discount from a Windows only box. Making Linux the default system of course and since it looks like Linux will soon include Netscape integrated in it; that would make Netscape the default browser. Let the market decide, right?

Didn't Linux outsell NT last year? If so, then why can I buy a new PC with NT but not Linux? Maybe people who buy sub $1000 PC's to web-surf will buy a system that has Linux/Netscape on it but costs $50 less than a machine laden with Windows95. We have Netscape on our UNIX machines at work and the internet experience is the same as on a PC running Windows.

That must be what scares old Bill so much. What advantage does Internet Explorer on Windows have over Netscape Navigator on Linux?

Cheers,

Norm
