Sonny .. You know .. it's amazing how many people think that;

we are in a new era where:

The US will never see inflation greater that 2% .. never ever again..

The US stock market will go up for ever and ever (with, of course, the regular one or two day correction)

The Federal reserve can increase the amount of US dollars in existence at the rate of 10% per year and >90% of that will go overseas and stay there.

That the US dollar will always be better than gold, as far as the rest of the world thinks.

That all of the economic rules that have been in existence for hundreds, if not thousands, of years have been permanently destroyed.

That all I gotta do is hold for the long term.

That it's better to suffer loss than pay capitol gains taxes.

I think that the probability of all of the above being true is pretty slim .. as a matter of fact, when I checked a few minuets ago, the dollar was loosing ground to the Yen, Mark, Pound and Swiss Frank.

Yes .. I saw the article .. But I thought the main concern of late was to get Japan back on its feet .. When it does there's going to be a lot of foreign investment money going someplace else besides the US.
