Patrick, here are my thoughts re. your post earlier this morning.

Although Dataquest & IDC don't specifically state that they include server & workstation sales in their numbers I believe they do. Historically, both Dataquest & IDC have come in very close to DELL's actual quarterly unit volume. For example in Q3,98 Dataquest came in at 1215, IDC at 1221 and DELL's actual was 1209. In Q4,98 Dataquest came in at 1385, IDC at 1405 and DELL's actual was 1437. As an aside, CONTEXT, the UK research organization that measures sales in Europe specifically states they include servers in their numbers.

This quarter I expect DELL will come in with at least 1550 units - maybe as much as 1600.

I'm still in the process of looking at over the numbers and will post later with additional thoughts.
